Meet Rebecca Arends, LMSW

Rebecca believes that therapy provides the opportunity to share unfiltered thoughts and feelings in confidence, receive empathy, and commit to collaboratively discerning actions that will create balance. Compassion and respect guide her work with clients as they discover and affirm what an authentic life becomes.

Rebecca views attachment wounds as creating symptoms of emotional distress such as anxiety, depression, substance misuse, struggles connecting deeply with others, parenting challenges, lack of clarity in career goals, and difficulty asserting needs. She enjoys working with individuals, couples, or families, creating treatment plans with defined goals. This rewarding process leads clients to rediscover their strengths and core values, and a greater ability to maintain healthy boundaries in relationships. Utilizing psychodynamic and attachment theory principles, and including Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Harm Reduction, Neurobiology Psychoeducation, and Narrative Therapy, she brings evidence-based approaches to sessions, illuminating the client’s own wisdom. Rebecca has been engaged the last 25 years in holistic and behavioral wellness in multiple settings, graduating from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelors of Psychology and Simmons University with a Master of Social Work.
