Meet Alaina Kuisma, MS, LLPC (She/Her)

I am a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) who works with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, identity exploration, relationship concerns, life transitions, and difficulties related to coping, self-esteem, emotional regulation, and neurodivergence.

My approach is rooted in an existential-humanistic and person-centered framework, meaning I believe meaningful change happens within a safe, collaborative therapeutic relationship. I integrate evidence-based approaches and trauma-informed interventions to help clients better understand themselves, build effective coping strategies, and move toward lives that feel more aligned with their values.

I also have experience supporting individuals struggling with substance use, compulsive behaviors, and patterns that may feel difficult to control or talk about openly. My approach is nonjudgmental and grounded in curiosity, self-understanding, and sustainable change rather than shame.

Clients often describe me as direct, warm, and collaborative. I strive to create a space where people feel respected, understood, and able to speak honestly — especially about experiences that feel vulnerable, confusing, or stigmatized.

Whether you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply ready for something to shift, therapy can be a place to pause, reflect, and move forward with greater clarity and intention.

Accepts clients ages 10 & up.
