Meet Alicia Kitsuse, LLPC

Whatever has brought you to therapy, take heart that you have arrived. Therapy provides a unique opportunity to unpack your burdens in an environment of warmth, compassion, and care.  Whether you seek to improve your relationship with yourself or with others, my aim is to meet you where you are and help you unlock your own natural wisdom and capacity for growth, repair, and healing.

As a practitioner, I strive to create a compassionate environment of empathy, mutuality, and acceptance in which the therapeutic alliance and a mindful approach to change can thrive. My approach is client-centered, collaborative, and integrative. Together we will explore your significant life history and look at patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that no longer serve you. Some of the benefits of therapy may include greater insight and self-awareness, improved communication skills and interpersonal relations, emotion regulation skills, mindfulness, self-compassion, a greater sense of ease and groundedness, and a greater ability to solve the practical problems of everyday life.

I work with individual adults and couples who are coping with anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, work issues, and other related conditions. In addition to training in mental health counseling, I hold a Ph.D. in Urban Planning and have previously worked in academic research and teaching, community and economic development, and community-based philanthropy. My diverse work history in the social sector informs and enriches my multicultural and social justice counseling perspectives.
