Meet Kathryn Brown, LMSW She/Her

I’m a licensed clinical social worker and certified advanced alcohol and drug counselor with over a decade of experience helping individuals, teens, and couples navigate life’s challenges. Since earning my degree from Wayne State University in 2014, I’ve worked in both community mental health and private practice settings.

I specialize in working with women’s issues, parenting and divorce, addiction and recovery, relationship concerns—including premarital counseling, couples therapy, and non-traditional relationships such as polyamory—as well as self-esteem and identity work. I also enjoy working with teens and supporting them through the often-complicated transitions of adolescence.

My approach is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), strengths-based practices, and person-centered care. I believe therapy works best when it’s a collaborative process rooted in trust, respect, and authenticity. My style is compassionate, supportive, and goal-oriented, and I strive to create a space where clients feel truly seen and safe to do the work that matters most to them.

Whether you’re facing a major life change or simply feeling stuck, I’m here to support you in moving forward with greater clarity, confidence, and connection.
