Meet Zach Cannon, LLPC
Many of us are taught over the course of our lives to overcome challenges and make sense of
the world on our own. We learn to manage things internally and to keep a tight lid on what is
really going on. While this may work at times, it can wear us down and leave us longing for
more. As a therapist, my hope is to collaboratively build a safe relationship of mutual trust,
where together we can learn to talk about the things that are difficult to talk about. I see the
therapeutic relationship as a container for the overwhelming and seemingly nonsensical
troubles and feelings that burden us. By externalizing and processing these things in
relationship, we can name them, make sense of them, and relate to them and ourselves in new
ways that offer relief and empowerment.
My therapeutic approach comes from a variety of perspectives including Narrative, Existential,
Attachment, Internal Systems, and Mindfulness. Additionally, I integrate CBT and ACT
modalities to provide structure and tools for growth as needed. I am trauma-informed and
strengths-based meaning I believe in the empowerment of my clients through meeting them
where they are at. Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, a difficult life
transition or change, my goal is to offer space, kindness, and understanding. I also enjoy
working with identity struggles, self-esteem, Men’s issues, and spiritual/religious questions. If
this resonates with you, please feel free to schedule an appointment to see how I can help.
